How we build

Five steps. No surprises.

Building should be exciting, not stressful. Here’s exactly how it works with us, and roughly how long each part takes.

STEP 01

Site visit and chat

We come to you, walk the section and hear what you’re after — a home for Mum, a rental, a family home. We’ll tell you straight what fits.

Free · about an hour

STEP 02

Pick your plan

Choose from the range and pick your roof, cladding, kitchen grade and colours. Or bring your own plans for a custom build.

1–2 weeks

STEP 03

Fixed quote and paperwork

A written, fixed-price quote with a clear timeline. We sort the council side: consent, or the exemption notice for a 70 m² home.

2–4 weeks

STEP 04

The build

Our own team builds it, led by one named site lead. You get a photo update every week and a phone that gets answered.

Around 12 weeks for a granny flat

STEP 05

Handover

A full walk-through, the keys, your warranty paperwork — and we’re still here if anything needs a look.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers

Do I need a building consent for a granny flat?

Often not, for a home up to 70 m² that meets the exemption rules, which came in from January 2026. You still need licensed trades, and the council must be told before and after the build. We check your site and handle it.

What’s included in the price?

The home itself, as described on each plan, including GST. Site costs — foundations, drainage, power and water connections, driveways — depend on your section, so we quote them after the site visit.

How long does a build take?

Around 12 weeks on site for a granny flat once paperwork is through. Larger homes take longer; your quote includes a timeline.

Where do you build?

Palmerston North and the Manawatū, and out to Woodville, Marton and Levin.

Can I change a plan?

Yes — roof, cladding, colours and kitchen grade are all your choice. Bigger layout changes are a custom build, which we’re happy to price.
